Almost Home Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit no-kill shelter and fostering network dedicated to providing sanctuary and finding loving adoptive homes for animals suffering from or in danger of abandonment, neglect, abuse or euthanization. We pride ourselves on humane sheltering focused on the individual needs of each animal in our care. Our education and community outreach programs aim to reduce the homeless pet population by promoting spaying, neutering and responsible pet ownership. Almost Home is solely funded by adoption fees, monetary donations, grants and tributes.

Our adoption fee for dogs is $175. The fee remains the same for puppies, adults and purebreds. The process begins when you fill out an online application. We work diligently to find the right home for our animals; one that will, based on the dynamics of the home and the temperament of the animal, lead to a successful and forever placement. If a good match, you will be invited to come to a "meet-and-greet," with your current dog(s) and family members. These usually take place at our shelter in Wright City.
